Artist David Taborn will be giving a talk on his 'Bookmania' exhibition at the South Lambeth Library this Monday 23rd May at 7pm.
The works are a hybrid of painting and sculpture and the theme of the exhibition is the book as an 'endangered species' - and the libraries that house them.
'Bookmania' is part of the Lambeth Readers & Writers Festival and the event is free - to book a seat call 020 7926 1075 or email readersandwriters@lambeth.gov.uk.

Joey the Musical Boy
My painting draws together references to Joseph Beuys, Sigmund Freud and Richard Wagner through the famous Bruno Bettelheim case study of 1959, ‘Joey the Mechanical Boy’, about an autistic boy named Joey who behaved as if he were a machine: “he could not drink, except through elaborate piping systems - liquids had to be pumped into him”.
